A really exciting and challenging navigational event is on the cards for the 2nd round of the 2009 BRC Mud Dogs Safari Championship. This event will ensure that the June Safari remains the premiere event on the navigation callender and live up to the legacy of June Rallies that have gone before. There will be three routes with two on Saturday 27th June and the final route on Sunday 28th June. The event has been set by Mr. Stewart Gill and it will be re-checked by Leslie Alleyne. My recent conversations with Stewart Gill revealed that he is excited about the tricks he has been able to come up with and a couple of the challenges are very interesting as well. One in particular turned back his Samurai on three attempts so far!
We are still working on permissions etc. but the tentative plan is as follows;
Start: Saturday 27th June @2:01pm - Heymans Factory, St. Peter.
Dinner Stop: Chefette Speightstown @ approx. 7:00pm
Night Stop: Colleton Plantation, St. John - approaching midnight.
The timing and logistics of route three are still in the planning phase and this info will be passed to you later this week. What I can say is that the latest the event will finish on Sunday is 12 noon.
The route is primarily Tulip with a couple sections of BRC (80% tulip & 20% BRC). There will also be no BRC in Route 2.
