PRESS RELEASE 16th July, 2008 – AMETZA NICHOLLS

Ametza Nicholls will not be competing on the third round of the CSN series at the 2008 Makka Pro surf contest…in JAMAICA

Although she took first place at the two already contested legs of the series, in Trinidad-Tobago and Barbados, an injury sustained while competing in France at the Quik Silver ISA World Junior Championships in May this year, has prevented her from surfing since then and she is now undergoing physical therapy and training before she can venture into the waves again.

She was looking forward to visiting Jamaica and competing against the best the Caribbean has to offer, but regrettably this is not to be, this time.

Special regards go to our friends from Jamaica Luke, Icah and Bob who shared our joys and sorrows while competing in France.

Good luck to all competitors and may CSN continue to succeed in their endeavor to make the sport of Surfing a channel to unite our regional athletes through their shared passion for riding waves.

Best regards from Barbados

Gotzone Foster (mum)
